(UN) Governed Spaces in a new exhibit at Usdan Gallery that combines art and anthropology to examine the Bagram Military Airbase in Afghanistan. It explores the conflicting narratives surrounding the base while asking viewers to question their pre-conceived ideas of the country. It invites the viewer to attempt to discover the “truth” for themselves, if such a “truth” even exists. Check out the online version of the exhibit to see the art, including some original work by Brianna Morel and your’s truly!

We have staged-readings of three new plays (one directed by yours truly!) and musical performances by the insanely talented Alex Diaz. Plus food!

Also, tomorrow night at 7pm in Tishman, come see a screening of Europe’s Last Dictatorship, an award-winning documentary on Belarus!

Please come out and support our last performance!

Belarusian Dream TOMORROW NIGHT!

Only one more night until The Bennington Belarusian Dream Theatre’s second performance at Bennington College. Come see these amazing new plays! One night only! The performance starts in Margot Tenney at 8:30, and the audience moves. Talk back with the playwrights after the performance. It’s going to be a great night!

Happy Belarusian Freedom Day!!!

Today, all over the world, Belarusian Dream Theaters are performing original works on Belarus, “Europe’s Last Dictatorship.” Tonight at 10pm, starting in D207, The Bennington College group will be performing four of these plays. Come see Oz Revisited, The Milk is Spoiled, Under Protest, and Variations on the Polis! Can’t get to Bennington, Vermont? Look at all of the other work happening around the globe! Find a Belarusian Dream group closest to your location. If you can’t make it to the shows tonight, try lighting a candle or reading up on Belarus. Do something to show your solidarity for Belarusian Freedom Fighters, and for oppressed people everywhere!

This is a great article on the Belarusian Free Theatre!

Belarus is described by many activists as “The last dictatorship in Europe”

Inspired by the Belarusian Free Theatre, several theatre organizations have band together and organized an international theatre festival called Belarusian Dream. Several plays about Belarus written by playwrights from around the world will be performed on March 25th, the “unofficial” holiday know as Belarusian Freedom Day. The theatre organizations putting up the plays range from professional to college, and can be found across the globe. Bennington College will be putting up four of these plays on March 25th, as well as other performances throughout the term. Stay tuned for more on Belarusian Dream, The Belarusian Free Theatre, and Bennington College’s productions of the plays.
